Tabea Horst Testimonial – Volunteer, February – March 2014
Now the day has arrived, that I have to do `Project 6` and have to leave this wonderful place soon. I would love to stay longer, because I absolutely enjoyed this special month in the Elephant Park. Every day I learned something new and every day I made another special experience. Time has gone by so fast.
I love spending my time close to the Ellies. When you once start to recognise the individual Ellies, you will fast remark their different unique characters. My sweetheart is the little Shungu, who is always mobed by the girls. I love him even more when he puts on his sad face (means: head on barrier, trunk falling down) to be pitied by the Guest which means hopefully more food for poor Shungu.
Not only the Elephants were great, but also the other people I met during my time here. So thanks to the other Volunteers from all over the world, which who I went Ziplining in Tsitsikama, Surfing at the Beach, Clubbing in Spotlight (which is definitely better than Flashback!), on a horseback Safari, to Monkeyland, to Jukani, to Knysna… I also loved our braais, even more with the guides.
